Indian Premier League: In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 opening fixture, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) thrashed defending champion Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by seven wickets at Eden Gardens on March 22. Before the start of the game, a grand opening ceremony was held to celebrate the 18 years of IPL.

After the end of the musical performances at the opening ceremony, talisman Indian batter Virat Kohli and KKR middle-order batter Rinku Singh were called on to take the stage. At first, Kohli came on the grandstand, followed by Rinku, who walked past the 36-year-old even though the former RCB skipper came forward to greet him. The short clip of the incident went viral on the internet and became a hot topic of discussion for cricket fans.

A social media user on X (formerly known as Twitter) questioned Rinku Singh's behavior during the IPL 2025 opening ceremony.

"What is this Behaviour Rinku singh," the user wrote on X.

Another user questioned the humbleness of Rinku Singh for ignoring Kohli's handshake.

“Rinku Singh rejects to shake hands with Virat. Virat waits to greet him, but Rinku doesn't even bother. Stay humble man,” an user wrote on X.

A fan shared a broken heart emoji while sharing the clip of the incident.

In the IPL 2025 opening fixture, Virat Kohli once again displayed a stunning performance and proved why he is called the ‘chase master’. During the run chase, the 36-year-old played an unbeaten 59-run knock from 36 balls at a strike rate of 163.89. The Bengaluru-based franchise will lock horns against Chennai Super Kings in their upcoming match of the tournament on March 28 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
