'KL Rahul Is Like...': Star Australian Seamer Praises Wicketkeeper-Batter Ahead Of IPL 2025, Calls Him 'Mr. Fix-it For India'

Star Australian seamer Mitchell Starc heaped praise on Indian wicketkeeper batter KL Rahul and called him the 'Mr. Fix-it' for Team India for playing a vital role in the Men in Blue squad. In the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, both KL Rahul and Starc will play for the Delhi Capitals. In the recently concluded Champions Trophy 2025, KL Rahul scored 140 runs from four innings for India and helped the Men in Blue clinch the prestigious ICC title for a record third time.

While speaking to Fanatics TV YouTube channel, Starc lauded the Indian wicketkeeper-batter for doing everything for the team. The Aussie pacer also showed excitement to play alongside the 32-year-old.

"KL Rahul is like Mr. Fix-it for India. He has opened the batting when asked to, batted at Number 6, kept wickets, fielded, batted in middle order — he has done just about everything, he has played vital roles, excited to play alongside him,” Starc said.

Previously, in IPL 2024, KL Rahul was a part of Lucknow Super Giants. While Starc represented Kolkata Knight Riders. Before the IPL 2025 mega-auction, neither of them was retained by their previous franchises. In the IPL 2025 mega-auction, the Delhi-based franchise roped in both Rahul and Starc for Rs 14 and 11.75 crores, respectively.

In IPL 2024, Delhi Capitals ended their campaign at sixth place on the standings with 14 points. DC won seven matches and conceded seven defeats in the previous season.

The wicketkeeper-batter played 132 IPL matches and scored 4683 runs at a strike rate of 134.61. In IPL 2024, Rahul played 14 matches and amassed 520 runs at a strike rate of 136.13. On the other hand, Starc bagged 17 wickets in IPL 2024 after playing 14 matches.

Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the opening match of the IPL 2025 on March 22 at Eden Gardens. While Delhi Capitals will begin their campaign on March 24 against Lucknow Super Giants.
