The Indian Cricket Team picked up a famous win on 9th March when they defeated New Zealand in the finals of the ICC Champions Trophy. The ICC tournament made a return after 8 years and was hosted in Pakistan this time around. The Indian Cricket Team who had refused to travel to Pakistan for the tournament were playing their matches in Dubai. As India and New Zealand met in the finals for the Champions Trophy, India defeated the Kiwis by four wickets thanks to a brilliant knock by Captain Rohit Sharma who scored 76 off 83 balls.
What Is Next To Come For Team India In 2025?
Now that the Champions Trophy is done and dusted, India will be looking forward to the rest of the year as there is much more international cricket to be played by the men in blue. For India, the next two tournaments that they will be targeting are the ICC T20 World Cup in 2026 and the ICC ODI World Cup in 2027. Here is the Indian Cricket Team's schedule for the rest of the year-
India's Tour Of England- India will visit England where they will play 5 test matches. The first test match will begin on June 20 and the fifth test will start from 31st July.
- First Test- June 20-24 (Headingley)
- Second Test- July 2-6 (Edgbaston)
- Third Test- June 10-14 (Lord's)
- Fourth Test- June 23-27 (Manchester)
- Fifth Test- July 31- August 4 (Oval)
India's Tour Of Bangladesh- India will visit Bangladesh to play a total of 3 ODIs and 3T20Is in August. The match schedule is yet to be released for this series.

West Indies' Tour Of India- West Indies will visit India for a short tour. They will be playing two test matches against India in October.
Asia Cup T20- In October, the Asia Cup tournament will kick off until November. It will be played in the T20 format in either UAE or Sri Lanka.

India's Tour Of Australia- India will travel to Australia for a series which will consist of 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is. The series will be played in November 2025.
South Africa's Tour Of India- South Africa will visit India towards the end of the year for a series which consists of 2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is. The series will be played in November-December.
Back To Back ICC Trophies For Rohit And Team India
As India lifted the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai after defeating New Zealand by four wickets, India under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma lifted back to back ICC trophies. India had won the ICC T20 World Cup in June of 2024 where they had defeated South Africa by 7 runs.
India followed it up by winning the ICC Champions Trophy making it back to back ICC trophies.
