Pakistan And Bangladesh Eliminated From Champions Trophy 2025, New Zealand Storm Into Knockouts With Emphatic Win

New Zealand have inflicted five-wicket defeat on Bangladesh and Both Pakistan and Bangladesh have been eliminated from the Champions Trophy 2025.

New Zealand have registered a five-wicket victory over Bangladesh and they have qualified for the Champions Trophy knockouts. In the proceedings, Pakistan have also been eliminated from another marquee event.

Pakistan Crashed Out Of Champions Trophy 2025

Both Pakistan and Bangladesh have lost two matches each and are yet to register any wins in the ongoing Champions Trophy. Had Bangladesh got the better of New Zealand, defending champions Pakistan would have been alive in the competition. But with two losses in two matches, both the Asian countries are now out of the Champions Trophy 2025.

Batting first Bangladesh posted a modest total of 236 runs courtesy of captain Najmul Hossain Shanto's valiant 77. Michael Bracewell was the pick of the Kiwis' bowlers as his four-wicket haul set the bedrock against Bangladesh. In reply, New Zealand lost three wickets within 72 runs. But it was Rachin Ravindra who ensured they stayed in the hunt as he set up the chase with another ODI century. Pakistan will now host Bangladesh in a dead rubber on February 27 and will hope to end their Champions Trophy campaign on a winning note.

The Kiwis will now take on India in an inconsequential match on Sunday in Dubai. Both teams have displayed solid consistency so far in the tournament and ahead of the semifinal, an exciting match could be on the cards.

Intense Rivalry In Group B

While Group A has already sent two teams into the semifinals Group B is still wide open. Both South Africa and Australia have notched up one win each so far and are set to lock horns on February 25. On the other hand, England lost their opening fixture against the Aussies and will face Afghanistan in a crunch tie on February 26.
