Under-pressure Pakistan Cricket Board were left red-faced after the Indian national anthem was played during a Champions Trophy 2025 game on Saturday between Australia and England. The incident took place at the iconic Gaddafi stadium in Lahore. It so happened that when the two teams lined up for the national anthems, the Indian national anthem started playing. Now, the PCB has blamed the International Cricket Board for this goof-up. A source close to the ICC has confirmed that the PCB has written a letter to them demanding an explanation.

‘ICC needs to offer some explanation’ - PCB to ICC

"The PCB has made it clear that the ICC needs to offer some explanation as their people are responsible for the (national anthem) playlist of teams in the Champions Trophy.

"Since India is not playing in Pakistan, it is hard to understand how their anthem was played by mistake from the playlist," the source said.

IND VS PAK PREVIEW

India lock horns with arch-rivals Pakistan in the biggest cricket match of the year in Dubai. While India start overwhelming favourites, for Pakistan, a win would help them keep their chances of a semi-final finish alive. If India win the game, they would in all likelyhood qualify for the semi-final. Pakistan lost to New Zealand in their opener by 60 runs, whereas India beat Bangladesh by six wickets. Given their record against Pakistan at ICC events, India have a massive edge over their opposition. Without a doubt, it would be a packed house present at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday when the two sides meet. The world's greatest rivalry will surely add a new chapter today.
