R Ashwin Raves Over Jasprit Bumrah’s Fandom, Hails Him as ‘The Most Valuable Indian Cricketer'

Jasprit Bumrah 's ascent to dominance should be a well-documented affair as the superstar pacer has been Team India's biggest treasure till now. Bumrah spearheaded the Men in Blue's pace attack during India's campaign at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, which the team ended up winning the title. Since then, the pacer has been applauded as a celebrity, and veteran Indian spin bowler R Ashwin loves to see the rise of the bowlers' fandom among the fans.

R Ashwin Admires the Fans’ Craze Over Bowlers After Jasprit Bumrah ’s Sensational World Cup Campaign

R Ashwin was in interaction with Journalist Vimal Kumar, saying that in the country where batters are mostly celebrated as revered figures, the fandom of Jasprit Bumrah has been palpable. He also applauded the Indian pacer, saying that Bumrah is a once-in-a-generation bowler and everyone should celebrate him more.

"India has always been the country that is a batsman-dominated country, and it's never going to change. But I am so glad and happy that we are celebrating Jasprit Bumrah . Jasprit Bumrah is a once-in-a-generation bowler. We should celebrate him even more.

"We Chennai people appreciate bowlers a lot. He was here for an event as a chief guest 4-5 days ago. We gave him a Rajni treatment. We (Chennai people) treat bowlers very nicely. He should be treated as a champion. I don't want to name, but Jasprit Bumrah is the most valuable Indian cricketer right now," Ashwin said.

Jasprit Bumrah will be returning to action in Test Cricket when Team India will lock horns against Bangladesh in a two-match red-ball series. Bumrah has been named among stars like Virat Kohli , Ravichandran Ashwin & more as Rohit Sharma takes charge of the Men in Blue in the red-ball format. The first match will take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on September 19, 2024.
