On the Lex Fridman podcast, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided his unique take on the Indo-Pak cricket rivalry. India recently defeated Pakistan in Dubai on their way to the Champions Trophy 2025 title.

The Men In Blue have had a sheer dominance over their archrivals in recent years. The Rohit Sharma -led Indian team defeated Pakistan in the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup , followed by in the 2024 T20 World Cup . Fridman asked PM Modi about who has the better cricket team.

PM Modi replied, "I think sports have the power to energise the entire world. The spirit of sports brings people across nations together. That's why I would never want sports to get discredited. I truly believe sports play a major role in human evolution. They're not just games; they connect people on a deeper level."

"Now coming to the question of who's better or not. When it comes to the techniques of the game, I'm not an expert. Only those who specialise in it can be the judge of it. They can only decide which team is the best and which players are the best. But sometimes, the results speak for themselves."

"Just a few days ago, India and Pakistan played a match and the result revealed who was the better team. That's how we know."

Pakistan Stooped To A New Low Against New Zealand

Pakistan crashed out of the Champions Trophy 2025 following two back-to-back defeats at the hands of New Zealand and India. The Men In Green also succumbed to a shambolic defeat against the Kiwis in the 1st T20I as they were bowled out for a paltry 91 at Hagley Oval.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma lifted his 2nd ICC title after getting the better of New Zealand in the CT 2025 frinal.
