Rohit-Shubman achieve new milestone for India
The opening partnership of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill for the Indian team recently achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 1000 runs together in the 50-over format. This achievement makes them the tenth Indian opening pair to accomplish this feat. Prior to their match against Sri Lanka, they required just 32 runs to reach this milestone, and they wasted no time in doing so, getting off to a fantastic start.
Remarkably, it took them only 12 innings to breach the 1000-run mark as a pair, and they achieved this with an impressive average of over 95 runs per innings. In their latest match, they added 80 runs to their partnership, bringing their total to 1046 runs. This partnership includes five half-century stands and four century partnerships.

In terms of Indian opening pairs who have achieved this milestone, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly lead the way with an incredible 6609 runs in 136 innings. Rohit Sharma also appears in this elite list alongside Shikhar Dhawan having amassed over 5000 runs together in 115 innings. Following them are Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar with a partnership total of 3919 runs in 93 innings.
