IPL 2025: Looks like the fun in the new season of the Indian Premier League has already started even before a ball is bowled. Before the El Classico where Chennai Super Kings take on Mumbai Indians , there was some banter between former captains of their respective franchises - Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni .

In what looks like a panel, Dhoni and the legendary Kapil Dev are seated when Rohit asks, "selfie chahiye ya autograph'. For a moment, Dhoni and Kapil are taken aback to hear this question from Rohit. But again, Rohit was quick to apologise to Dhoni and Kapil. It is no secret that Rohit and Dhoni are good friends and have shared the dressing-room on umpteen occasions for the country. Here is the viral clip.

Meanwhile, there have been speculations around Dhoni's IPL future forever, yet he is ready to feature in another season. Dhoni was retained as an uncapped player at Rs 4 crore ahead of the 2025 season also because of the experience he brings to the table. Spotlight would be on him to see how fit he is and if he can still cope with pressure.

On the other hand, Rohit has retired from the T20I format, but continues to be an integral part of the MI franchise. After a poor 2024 season, the onus would be on Rohit to get their season off to a good start - ideally, a winning start. 

Over the years, the El Classico has entertained giving some amazing games, some crazy finishes and when the two sides clash this year - nothing short of a humdinger would be on the cards. The El Classico takes place at the iconic Chepauk which is expected to be packed to the rafters. Interesting to see who can soak up the pressure and emerge on top on the day that matters. The match takes place on March 24.
