ICC Champions Trophy 2025: The Indian side beat Bangladesh in their Champions Trophy 2025 opener and then went on to hammer arch-rivals Pakistan to secure a spot in the semi-final. On the other hand, New Zealand are the other side from Group A that have sealed their spot in the semis. And now all the speculation is around who plays who in the knockouts. To spice things up further in Group B, England, who were considered to be contenders, have been knocked out after Afghanistan stunned them. South Africa and Australia top Group B at the moment. Both sides have played a game and won that. Afghanistan have played two and won one and hence are at the third spot. Mind you, Afghanistan are not out of it.

Who Does India Face in The Semi-Final?

While the two teams from Group A have been confirmed, there are three teams still in contention in Group B. In their final group game, Afghanistan face Australia in Lahore's Gaddafi stadium while South Africa take on England in Karachi. If Australia beat Afghanistan, they go through from their group. And then, South Africa need to beat England to clearly go through to the semis. In case South Africa lose, they need to ensure they have a better Net Run Rate compared to Afghanistan.

The team that India would play would depend on their match against New Zealand. If India win, they would top their group and would then play the team that finishes second in Group B. So, yes, it cannot be confirmed which team would India play in the semi-final. It could either be Australia, South Africa and even Afghanistan stand an outside chance.
