Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli to RETIRE Before 2027 Cricket World Cup? Harbhajan Singh Has SERIOUS Doubts

2027 Cricket World Cup : Even before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 started, there was massive speculation around the future of the two big legends - Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli . Now, even after CT 2025 that India won, there is still speculation among the fans and plaudits. The speculations are whether Rohit and Kohli will continue on and play the 2027 WC.

While there is nothing official on this, former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has given his two cents on this topic. Harbhajan, who has seen the two modern-day legends from close quarters, reckons that there is massive doubts over their participation at the ICC mega-event in 2027. 

‘That is way too far, he will have to see’

"I feel that if anything is left for him to achieve is the 50-over World Cup. He would probably want to win but there is still two and a half years for that. That is way too far, he will have to see where his fitness is going, where his hunger is going," Harbhajan told ESPNCrincinfo.

"If he's still got it, he will have to work hard for it and if he works hard, he will play. So, is the case with Virat Kohli," he said about Kohli.

Kohli-Rohit in CT 2025

Both the senior statesmen played a pivotal role in India's triumphant run at the Champions Trophy in Dubai. While Kohli hit an unbeaten century against arch-rivals Pakistan in the big-ticket match to take his side over the line, captain Rohit rose to the occasion in the summit clash where he hit a marvelous 76 off 83 balls. Rohit was also spot-on with his change of bowlers and field-setting.
