‘He Bowed at Me’: Sarfaraz Khan Reflects on His Inspiring Meet-Up With Kohli, Reveals What He Learnt

After waiting for a long time, Sarfaraz Khan found his moment as he made his Team India debut against England. The middle-order batter has been delightful as he showcased a strong foot against the Englishmen. Sarfaraz learns from the best, and he has been fascinated with Virat Kohli . Sarfaraz opened up on the time when they met for the first time and what he las learnt from the superstar batter.

Sarfaraz Khan Reflects on His First Encounter With Virat Kohli and the Lessons He Gained

While speaking on JioCinema, Sarfaraz Khan expressed his fandom for Virat Kohli and his first meet-up with the Indian Cricket superstar. He revealed they first met in Bengaluru at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, where he scored a 21-ball 45, and Kohli bowed at him. The India upstart expressed that Virat's passion for the game and his spirit are beyond comparison. The batter also revealed he learned a lesson of ethics from Kohli.

"I met him at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium for the first time. I had scored 45 runs in 21 balls here, and he bowed at me. I had a lot of fun that day. It has been a dream to share an Indian team dressing room with him.

"He is clear about his game. He knows the work a player needs to keep doing and that criticism or praise shouldn't affect your game. 'This is my work, I have to do this in the morning, this in the afternoon, this in the evening, and sleep at a specific time.' That's what I have learned from him," Sarfaraz said.

Sarfaraz Khan is a part of Team India's first Test match against Bangladesh in Chennai. He was also a part of the Duleep Trophy tournament, where he performed alongside his brother Musher and did pretty well. As per reports, Sarfaraz has rushed to Chennai to join the India camp and is expected to compete for a middle-order role in the Playing XI.
