Shikhar Dhawan Lays Out CARNAGE in LLC, Slams a Solid Half-Century Against Southern Super Stars

Shikhar Dhawan may have retired from international and domestic cricket, but it doesn't mean that he has lost his charm. The former India opener, who was prominent for his aggressive style of play and distinct swag, is currently featuring in the Legends League Cricket. Dhawan is leading the charge of the Gujarat Greats, and he has been spot-on as he continues to play in the LLC. The former India opener unleashed his wrath as he continued to play exhibition cricket matches.

Shikhar Dhawan Unleashes a Fiery Fifty in LLC  Against Southern Super Stars

At the Barkatullah Khan Stadium in Jodhpur, Shikhar Dhawan led the charge of his side with ease as he made a mark during the match between the Gujarat Greats and the Southern Super Stars. The Indian Cricket's Gabbar scored a half-century in 37 balls, which was his first in the exhibition tournament. Dhawan scored a 48-ball 52 as he set up a potent opening partnership with Morné van Wyk.

While chasing the total score of 145 runs, Dhawan put up a strong effort with van Wyk as they developed a 63-run partnership. But the latter was dismissed after scoring just 15 runs. Dhawan lodged three boundaries and the same number of sixes as he raked up runs to score a half-century in the game.

However, after Shikhar Dhawan's dismissal, the Gujarat Greats' momentum quickly derailed as they failed to contribute with the bat in other to reach the target. Be it Asghar Afghan, Manan Sharma, or Yashpal Singh, all of them lost their wickets cheaply and they could not reach the given target. The Southern Super Stars won by 26 runs and Chaturanga de Silva was declared as the player of the match.

Earlier in the year, Shikhar Dhawan announced his retirement from international and domestic cricket, marking the end of an era. Dhawan will not be a part of the IPL , and the Punjab Kings need to scout a plan in order to declare the next skipper. As one of India's most explosive openers, Shikhar gave Indian cricket fans core memories which will remain indelible for life.
