'THALA' MS Dhoni UNLEASHES Beast Mode; Smashes Huge Six During CSK's Training Session Ahead of IPL 2025 | WATCH

IPL 2025: Former Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni is just not a cricketer, but an emotion. From changing games on it's head to leading CSK to title after title, one has to agree that Dhoni is synonymous to the cash-rich Indian Premier League 2025. While spotlight would be on Dhoni for sure, it would be interesting to see how his body copes - in what could probably be his last year with the franchise as an active cricketer.

Ahead of the season, Dhoni was spotted at CSK's training session where he was batting in the nets. During the session, Dhoni gave fans a glimpse of what can be expected of him this year in the IPL. The former CSK captain hit a monstrous six of a back-of-a-length delivery, which goes on to show the reflexes and his eyesight is still good. He pulled the delivery and the connection was good - the sound of the bat confirmed it.

Meanwhile, Dhoni would not be leading the side as it would be Ruturaj Gaikwad who would do that. It would, like always, be interesting to see at what number does Dhoni play this season. 

'I've retired since 2019'

"I've retired since 2019, so it has been quite some time. What I've been doing in the meantime is I just want to enjoy cricket for the last, whatever few years, you know, I will be able to play," Dhoni had said last month, during the launch of his app powered by Single.id. 

In the past, he has faced a lot of criticism for batting way too low in the order. In 2024, CSK finished fifth and could not make the playoff.

Gaikwad, with Dhoni by his side, would like to take CSK deep in the 2025 season and for that to happen - the start of the season would be mighty important.
