ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Team India will start slight favourites when they take on New Zealand in the CT 2025 final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Sunday (March 9). It would be a clash of the titans in front of a packed house at the DICS. But, there is reportedly a Pakistan connection to the final.

Obviously, the finale is not taking part in Pakistan as India are in the summit clash. It is believed that the same strip where India thrashed Pakistan in Dubai is the pitch that would host the big-ticket game. It is the centre wicket and the groundstaff have watered it well over the past few days. The Emirates Cricket Board has reportedly maintained its 'two week rest' policy for the pitches in Dubai.

‘They get at least two weeks rest’

"If you look at the pitches used in the Champions Trophy, the curators and ground staff ensured they get at least two weeks rest. Even when the ILT20 was on, the pitch used for the India vs Bangladesh game wasn't used for two weeks before match day. Similar approach was followed for the fixtures that were scheduled after that," says an official close to developments.

India beat Pakistan by six wickets. Virat Kohli was India's main man as he hit a brilliant unbeaten century to guide his side to a memorable win. 

CT 2025 FINAL

In a little over 24 hours, Team India, led by Rohit Sharma, would take on New Zealand in the summit clash in Dubai. It promises to be nothing short of a humdinger in Dubai on March 9. The Men in Blue start slight favourites as they beat the Blackcaps in the group stage. But again, nothing can be guaranteed as it will be a new day and a new game.
