'Using PR Against Gautam Gambhir': Netizens Brutally Troll Rohit Sharma After Another Flop Outing For Mumbai In Ranji Trophy

Indian captain Rohit Sharma's troubles in red-ball continued as he failed for the second consecutive time on his Ranji Trophy return for Mumbai.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma was forced to make a return to domestic cricket after a long gap of ten years due to poor form. The latter has been a complete flop in the red-ball format over the past year and could only score 33 runs from three matches in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy which pushed him to improve his technique by playing domestic cricket. However, his woes continued in the Ranji Trophy as well and he couldn't put up an impressive performance once again. Sharma got dismissed for 28 runs off 34 balls during the second innings of Mumbai vs Jammu and Kashmir Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match. Fans trolled Rohit for his poor run in domestic cricket as well and came up with reactions on social media, some of them are mentioned below:

Netizens Troll Rohit Sharma Over Twin Domestic Failures 

Despite slamming centuries in both innings on his Test debut, Rohit Sharma hasn't been able to find the key to success in the shortest international format. The latter has only scored 4301 runs from 67 Tests which are pretty average numbers from his white ball performance. In the present time, short ball which had been among his strengths of Rohit has become his weakness of late. Sharma got dismissed while playing a pull shot in the first innings.

Questions Raised Over Poor Captaincy 

Apart from his batting, Rohit Sharma has been highly criticised due to his unimpressive captaincy in Test cricket. Team India hasn't won a single Test under Rohit's leadership in the past six games, which includes the heartbreaking 3-0 loss in the home Test series against New Zealand. After the Indian team lost the Boxing-Day Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, there were speculations that Rohit would retire from Test cricket, however, he has cleared the air in an interaction that he has no plans of retirement at the present time.
