Legendary Indian wicketkeeper MS Dhoni and former India all-rounder Suresh Raina attended Rishabh Pant 's sister Sakshi's wedding functions, where they were spotted grooving to the iconic sufi song 'Mast Qalandar' on March 11 in Mussoorie. In a viral video that is doing the rounds on the internet, Pant, along with Dhoni and Raina, flaunted their dance steps at the marriage ceremony.
Dhoni and Raina joined Pant's family on the dance floor during the wedding festivities. According to reports, Pant's sister Sakshi will tie the knot with her long-time partner Ankit Choudhary this week. Pant has always shared a close bond with the former Indian captain MS Dhoni and they have been seen together at multiple events in the past. Earlier this week, Dhoni, along with his family, was spotted at the Dehradun before they headed to the wedding.
Pant was a part of Team India's winning squad in the recently concluded Champions Trophy 2025, and the Indian wicketkeeper flew straight to Mussoorie from Dubai. The 27-year-old, however, didn't play a single match in the Champions Trophy 2025. Soon after his sister's marriage, Pant will join the Lucknow Super Giants' camp ahead of the Indian Premier League ( IPL ) 2025.
During the IPL 2025 mega-auction, the Lucknow-based franchise roped in Pant for a record price of Rs 27 crore. The Super Giants also announced that the Indian wicketkeeper would lead the franchise in the upcoming season of the T20 tournament. In the previous season, Pant was a part of Delhi Capitals, where he played 13 matches, scoring 446 runs at a strike rate of 155.40.
On the other hand, MS Dhoni has already started training ahead of the 18th season of the IPL for Chennai Super Kings with the franchise's new signings. In IPL 2024, Dhoni played 14 matches and scored 161 runs at a strike rate of 220.55 and an average of 53.67. Before the start of IPL 2024, Dhoni left his leadership role at CSK and handed it over to his teammate Ruturaj Gaikwad.
IPL 2025 will begin on March 22, the opening match will be played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Eden Gardens. The Chennai-based franchise will begin their voyage against Mumbai Indians on March 23 at MA Chidambaram Stadium. Meanwhile, LSG will begin their campaign against Delhi Capitals on March 24 in Visakhapatnam.
