Beloved and well-known modern-day Delhi cricketers Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant have been proposed as Ranji Trophy probables, which would thrill fans all over. Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant could play for Delhi in the Ranji Trophy

Delhi's preliminary roster for the 2024–25 Ranji Trophy includes Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant , indicating that Kohli will return to domestic cricket after a break to focus on international matches. Among the 84 possible players chosen by the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), Kohli, Pant, and injured Navdeep Saini are among them; Ishant Sharma, who played in Delhi the previous season, is noticeably missing. With Delhi playing Chandigarh when the league starts on October 11, questions over Kohli and Pant's availability among test series preparations for India versus New Zealand abound. Delhi supporters are excited about the possibility of their favourite cricketers playing in the famous domestic league. A DDCA statement read:

“A fitness test for the selected players will take place on September 26, 2024. Players currently on international duty are exempt from this fitness test,”

Delhi's probable Ranji Trophy squad did not include Virat Kohli until 2018. Following a strong international series against New Zealand, his last outing was against Uttar Pradesh in the 2012–13 season. Kohli's international obligations could restrict his availability in important games, but his return will greatly improve Delhi's chances.

Renowned for his aggressive batting style, Rishabh Pant is a Delhi standout having made 17 Ranji Trophy appearances since his 2015 debut. Notable for reaching the quickest century in Ranji Trophy history and a remarkable 48-ball hundred against Jharkhand during the 2016–17 season, he gives the squad more dynamism.

Even temporarily, the presence of Kohli and Pant gives Delhi's roster great star power as they want to shine in the next season. Their potential collaboration with fresh talent can give Delhi a competitive advantage. However, their real involvement depends on their availability due to competing overseas schedules. Starting their Ranji Trophy trip against Chandigarh on October 11, Delhi excites its supporters to see if these cricket icons will make the season opening.
