The much anticipated encounter is here as India and Pakistan are all set to resume their ‘Greatest Rivalry’ when the two square off against each other in the group stage fixture of T20 World Cup 2024 at the Nassau County International Stadium in New York.

Gary Kirsten was the coach when India won the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011. Now he leads Pakistan against India and is about to script a historic feat in cricket which no other coach has ever achieved.

Pakistan coach Gary Kirsten is on the verge of completing a great feat as when his side play against Pakistan. 

Gary Kirsten will become the only coach in history of cricket to coach both India and Pakistan against each other in a World Cup game. 

This will be an incredible feat considering the amount of history involved between the two sides and the amount of pressure and stakes in every India vs Pakistan World Cup game. 

Gary Kirsten was the head coach of India when the two nations met each other in the semi finals of 2011 ODI Cricket World Cup. India emerged victorious that night in Mohali and progressed to play the finals and went on to win the tournament.  

Gary Kirsten will be hoping Pakistan gets away with the win tonight.
