Barcelona and Atletico Madrid Fight Out 4-4 Thriller In 1st Leg Of Copa Del Rey Semis

FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid played out a thrilling 4-4 draw in the first leg of their Copa Del Rey semi-final match.

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid played the first leg of their Copa Del Rey semi-finals match last night. It was an absolute thriller of a match that saw both sides score four goals each but nobody emerging as the winner. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are currently locked in battle on several fronts as both teams are currently in the top three of the La Liga with Barcelona at the top of the table and Atletico Madrid in third. Real Madrid seperate the two teams in the La Liga table. On the other side of the bracket, Real Madrid will be playing their Copa Del Rey semis against Real Sociedad and two of the top three La Liga teams could meet each other in the final. 

Hard Fought Match Ends In 4-4 Draw For Barcelona And Atletico Madrid 

Atletico Madrid got a spirited start to their match against FC Barcelona as they scored twice within the first six minutes thanks to Julian Alvarez and Antoine Griezmann. Several minutes later, FC Barcelona began orchestrating their comeback into the match as Pedri got a goal back for Barcelona in the 19th minute.

Following this, young defender Pau Cubarsi scored the second Barcelona goal to get the teams on level terms.

A Match Of Comebacks For Both Teams 

As Barcelona successfully came back into the match, Inigo Martinez and Robert Lewandowski slotted two more goals against Atletico Madrid to get Barcelona a 2 goal lead in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals. Atletico Madrid however were not willing to go down easily as Marcos Llorente and Alexander Sorloth scored late goals to get the two teams back on level terms.

With this the match ended 4-4 with all to be played for in the second leg of the semi-final which will take place on 3rd April in Madrid.
