Portugese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo was left in disbelief upon learning about the tragic passing of fellow national teammate Diogo Jota. The Liverpool FC forward and his brother Andre Silva lost their lives after being involved in a car accident at Zamora, Spain.
Diogo Jota tragically lost his life in a car accident at Zamora, Spain. The Portuguese footballer's car had went off the road and caught fire. Diogo's brother Andre Silva, also a Portuguese footballer, was in the car when the incident happened. The Spanish Police are investigating the cause of the incident. Diogo was 28 and had tied the knot two weeks back with Rute Cardoso.
Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his grief, saying that it did not make sense to him as both of them were recently in action for their National side and that he has recently gotten married. Ronaldo also expressed his condolences to Jota's family, wife and kids in such tragic times.
“It doesn't make sense. Just now we were together in the National Team, just now you had gotten married. To your family, your wife, and your children, I send my condolences and wish them all the strength in the world. I know you will always be with them. Rest in Peace, Diogo and André. We will all miss you,” Cristiano Ronaldo posted on ‘X’ (Formerly Twitter).
Premier League club Liverpool FC have issued their first response over Diogo Jota as they express grief upon learning about the Portuguese footballer's tragic passing. The club expressed that they are “devastated by the tragic passing” and “will continue to provide them with our full support.” to Diogo Jota's family in such tragic times.
Liverpool FC also stated that they would not make any further comments on the incident and have sought privacy of Diogo and Andre's family, teammates, friends and the club staff as they deal with such an unimahginable loss of their loved ones.
