Saudi Pro League: Al-Nassr FC needed to make a comeback in the ongoing Saudi Pro League season following a disappointing 3-2 defeat to Al-Ettifaq in their previous game. However, it was not a problem for the Cristiano Ronaldo-led side on Tuesday in Makkah. With the help of Ronaldo and Sadio Mane getting the back of the net, Al-Nassr sealed a thumping 2-0 triumph over Al-Wehda at the King Abdulaziz Sports City.

The first half went goalless with both the sides failing to get the back of the net. Soon after the start of the second half, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner gave Al-Nassr a lead from a header in the 48th minute of the game. After that CR7's side tried to score another point, although the hosts solidified their defence to concede any further.

In the dying minutes of the game, Al-Nassr received a freekick, which Ronaldo took, but Al-Wehda's fate took a sudden turn when CR7's powerful shot deflected from an opponent defender's arm and went out for a corner. The visitors appealed for a spot kick and soon after a thorough VAR check, the referee's decision went in Al Nassr's favour.

With Cristiano Ronaldo inching closer to his 1000 goals milestone, the former Real Madrid superstar and Al Nassr's preferred penalty taker showed a generous gesture by handing the ball to his teammate Sadio Mane, who had failed to score a goal in his previous nine matches for the club. Ronaldo was also seen asking the away fans to stop whistling when the Senegalese striker was about to take the spot kick.
