Famous pundit predicts the Manchester United vs Nottingham Forest match
On Saturday, December 30, Manchester United will play Nottingham Forest in the Premier League at City Ground. Football analyst Mark Lawrenson believes United will win.
Manchester United is heading into the match on high after defeating Aston Villa 3-2 at Old Trafford earlier in the week. John McGinn and Leander Dendoncker goals put United under 2-0 at halftime, but they mounted a comeback in the second half. Alejandro Garnacho's brace and Rasmus Hojlund's maiden EPL goal helped United turn the tide and win three precious points.
On the other hand, in their most recent match at St. James' Park, Nottingham Forest defeated Newcastle United 3-1. Chris Wood, playing against his old side, showed off his skill by scoring three goals in the game. Following their previous penalty kick surrendered to Alexander Isak, earlier in the first half, the Tricky Trees made a comeback thanks to their outstanding effort and will look to do the same at home when they face United.
Despite Nottingham Forest's excellent performance against Newcastle, Lawrenson predicts Manchester United to win the forthcoming match in his column for Paddy Power. He wrote:
“I wonder if that comeback for Manchester United against Aston Villa might be a turning point in their season. As well as they played in that second half, they were helped by Villa’s tactics. United need to improve their away form, and they just looked a bit different on Wednesday night.”
Mark Lawrenson’s Prediction: 1-2
