Premier League: Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta confirmed that skipper Martin Odegaard has injured his shoulder during their Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest.
Arsenal thrashed Nottingham Forest during their Premier League match, clinching a commanding 3-0 victory, on Saturday, September 13.
It was Martin Zubimendi's brace and Viktor Gyokeres' lone goal that helped the Gunners clinch three points at the Emirates Stadium.

Early in the 18th minute of the game, Arsenal were forced to bring Odegaard back from the field after the skipper landed heavily on his shoulder during a tackle. It was Ethan Nwaneri who replaced Odegaard on the field.
Arsenal are already missing Bukayo Saka and William Saliba due to injuries, and now Odegaard is suffering a blow, which will create a big headache for the head coach Mikel Arteta.

Saka sustained a hamstring injury during Arsenal's 5-0 win over Leeds United in the Premier League on August 23.
Mikel Arteta Opens Up On Martin Odegaard's Injury
While speaking at the post-match press conference, Mikel Arteta revealed that Odegaard wasn't feeling comfortable, which is why he was subbed off. The head coach hoped that the captain would recover from his injury for their upcoming UEFA Champions League match against Athletic Club on September 16.
"It is a very similar injury. He wasn’t comfortable to continue. He played two games for Norway and he wasn’t able to carry on today. So we have to assess him with the doctors but I am sure he will try his best to be fit for Tuesday," Mikel Arteta told reporters at the post-match press conference.
When asked if the Norwegian midfield needs any surgery, Arteta replied that only a medical expert could say that.
"No I don’t think so. I’m not the expert but they [the medical staff] were not concerned at that level at all," he added.
Martin Odegaard's Stats With Arsenal
The 26-year-old played 182 matches during his second stint with the Gunners and scored 39 goals. In the Premier League 2024-2025 season, Odegaard played 45 matches and scored six goals. He also made 11 assists in the previous season.
