After a thrilling end to the 2024 Formula One season, F1 is back in 2025 for another season. The first race of the season will take place in Melbourne, Australia with several changes in the Formula One grid. Ahead of the first race of the 2025 season, several new names are there on the F1 grid and the biggest shocker of them all is Lewis Hamilton will be driving for Scuderia Ferrari after spending 12 years with Mercedes AMG F1 team. Ahead of the first race on 16th March, the qualifying session in Melbourne saw a somewhat similar starting grid to the 2024 season.
Ahead of the first race of the 2025 season, McLaren driver Lando Norris took pole position in Melbourne. With a Q3 lap of 1:15.096, Lando Norris stormed to top of the grid for the first race of the season. He finished ahead of his teammate Oscar Piastri who came in second. Defending World Champion Max Verstappen came in at third to wrap up the top 3 for tomorrow's race.
Mercedes replaced Lewis Hamilton with young driver Kimi Antonelli who failed to perform in his first outing with Mercedes as he will be starting 16th on the grid in the Australian Grand Prix.
The newest Ferrari driver and 7-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton failed to make it into the top three in his first qualifying with Ferrari as he could only manage a P8. His teammate Charles Leclerc finished just ahead of him in P7 as the two Ferrari's will be starting the race in 7th and 8th for the Australian Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton will be looking to take advantage of the predicted rain during the race as he begins his 19th season in Formula One.
