Paralympics Silver Medalist Yogesh Kathuniya Delights PM Narendra Modi with a Special Honour
In a conversation with PM Modi, Yogesh Kathuniya stated that for others, PM would stand for Prime Minister. But for the Paralympians, he is something special.
Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi , hosted the Paralympic contingent that represented India at the 2024 Paris Para Games. Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, PCI President Devendra Jhajharia and the Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse were also at the event. PM Modi interacted with all the athletes and understood their experience while competing in the quadrennial event. Team India ended their campaign with a record-setting haul of 29 medals, which includes seven gold, nine silver and 13 bronze medals.

Silver Medalist Yogesh Kathuniya Brightens Up PM Narendra Modi After Calling Him ‘Param Mitra'
During Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's meeting with the Paralympics contingent at his official residence, Silver Medalist Yogesh Kathuniya spoke to PM Modi and said that the abbreviation PM would be Prime Minister for others. But for the Paralympians, it means Param Mitra.
"It's not an experience, it's consistency. We have achieved the consistency because of you due to the different schemes you have launched in India, be it the TOPS Scheme, Khelo India scheme... Because of you, we all have been able to secure 29 medals.
I would say one more thing that for everybody, the word PM would mean Prime Minister, but for all of us, PM means 'Param Mitra', [Main ek cheez aur kehna chahunga, baki logon ke liye aap, PM ka matlab hota hai ki Prime Minister. Hum sab ke liye, PM ka matlab hota hai Param Mitra,]" the Men's discus throw F56 Silver Medalist said

After hearing this, the entire hall clapped and PM Modi was also impressed with what Yogesh Kathuniya said.
"I feel proud for this post and I also want to work as a 'mitra' (friend) with you all," replied the PM.
India summed up their 2024 Paralympics campaign with a solid finish in Paris. The country's para-athletes delivered one of the best finished and finished in the top 20 spots in the global medals tally.
