Indian boxing sensation Nikhat Zareen is set to make her much-anticipated Olympic debut at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Zareen, a two-time world champion, will step into the ring at the North Paris Arena on July 28.
Her debut comes after missing out on the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where she narrowly lost the trials to the iconic Mary Kom. Since then, Nikhat Zareen has achieved remarkable success, winning two world titles, a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games, and a bronze at the Asian Games last year.
In the women's 50kg category, Nikhat Zareen will face Germany's Maxi Carina Kloetzer in the round of 32. Should she advance, the Indian boxer might encounter Wu Yu of the People's Republic of China, the reigning Asian Games champion, in the round of 16.
