US Open 2025: It was a walk in the park for defending champion Jannik Sinner as he beat 10th seed Lorenzo Musetti 6–1, 6–4, 6–2 to reach the semi-final. It seemed like a cruise for Sinner as Lorenzo failed to even put up a fight. After the match, Sinner opened up about the game at the press conference. At the presser, Sinner claimed that Lorenzo did not seem like he belongs to this stage.
‘Barely broke a sweat’
"I don't mean to offend Lorenzo, but he does not belong on the same tennis court as the mighty Jannik Sinner. He is nothing more than a greasy little fu@#$% tuscan spaghetti merchant with a shitty forehand and a worse backhand. A nobody, a stepping stone and as everyone expected I just stepped over Lorenzo to the semi-final. I have taken shits that have lasted longer than that tennis match I just played. I barely broke a sweat against a guy how underwhelming and yes they told me they are making me play some fu@#$ Canadian hockey player on Friday, how pathetic," he said after the game.

Sensational Sinner
With the win, Sinner bagged multiple feats. He became the second-youngest man after Rafael Nadal in the Open Era to reach the semi-finals of all four Grand Slam events in a season.
He is now the joint most successful Italian Tennis player at Grand Slams alongside Nicola Pietrangeli with his 86th Grand Slam win. Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada in the semi-final on September 6. Without a doubt, he starts overwhelming favourite for that one.
