‘A Lot Has Been Misinterpreted’: Mr McMahon Slams Netflix Documentary for Misrepresenting His Legacy

Vince McMahon has become an epicentre of controversy in the wrestling realm. Even though he is not associated with the WWE , the former kingpin has been muddled with a lot of trouble. Amidst the chaos, a documentary which covers the journey of Mr. McMahon is all set to release on Netflix. The docu-series covers the legacy of McMahon, including his life, career, and the highs and lows of his path to becoming a billionaire. Ahead of the release on the OTT platform, Vinny Mac has chosen to distance himself from the documentary.

Vince McMahon Distances Himself From Netflix Documentary Portraying His Legacy

Former WWE CEO, Mr. McMahon, took an issue with an upcoming docu-series on his legacy. On Monday, Vince issued a statement on his social media platform 'X' [Formerly Twitter], where he slammed the docu-series and claimed that it has a misleading and deceptive depiction of him.

"I don't regret participating in this Netflix documentary. The producers had an opportunity to tell an objective story about my life and the incredible business I built, which were equally filled with excitement, drama, fun, and a fair amount of controversy and life lessons. Unfortunately, based on an early partial cut I've seen, this doc falls short and takes the predictable path of conflating the "Mr. McMahon" character with my true self, Vince. The title and promos alone make that evident," Vince McMahon's statement mentioned.

Vince McMahon also alleged that the producer of the docu-series used 'typical editing tricks' and 'out of context footage' to cloud the people's mindset. In the end, he urged the viewers to watch it with an open mind.   

The former WWE Kingpin has been one of the most influential personalities in the wrestling industry as he revolutionized the wrestling promotion and made it a global phenomenon. However, Mr. McMahon's life was also cluttered with a lot of controversies, which included the recent Janel Grant fiasco. Amid the scandals, McMahon had to step down from the WWE before briefly returning for the company's sale to Endeavor and form TKO Group Holdings, the parent company of UFC and WWE.
