South Korean smartphone brand Samsung which is highly expected by loyalists to launch he next-gen Galaxy S10 next-gen edition at a rumoured Unpacked event even before the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2019) next year could have an exclusive 5G-compatible Galaxy S10 variant in its lineup.

Now, rumour mills are rife about the SG edition of the Galaxy S10 being a premium one and about this handset being codenamed Beyond X. These reports (hinted at by a tipster going by the moniker Ice Universe, on Twitter) add substance to earlier ones that hinted at the imminent showcase of the Galaxy S10 and a 5G variant of the phone. However, the newly surfaced reports do not mention details about the apparent launch/release date of the purported Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphone.

If the latest reports are anything to go by, then the “Beyond X” Galaxy would feature a 6.7-inch display; with a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor. The handset could also feature multiple cameras. At this juncture, as per earlier reports, there could be 1TB, 512GB, and 128GB internal storage editions.

Also, it is worth noting that 5G’s commercial operation are believed (by enthusiasts and experts like) to begin full-fledged commercial operations only after the period of the second quarter of 2019; hence, the hugely rumoured Samsung Galaxy S10 could be released and made available for purchase during or after this period.

As far as 5G is concerned, US wireless carrier AT&T is showcasing the next-gen wireless standard starting December 21 in select cities. The carrier would also offer trial to select individuals and businesses; through the Netgear Nighthawk Mobile Hotspot which would be available for commercial purchase from 2019 for a staggering Rs 35000 ($499).

At the MWC 2019, both Samsung and LG are believed (by tech enthusiasts) to take the lead as far as showcasing demo units of their respective 5G smartphone flagships are concerned. Hence, it is advisable that you be a tad more patient before you could get to check out 5G compatible smartphones/mobile devices.
