Ratan Tata, the esteemed chairman emeritus of Tata Sons, passed away late Wednesday night at the age of 86. He was receiving treatment at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, where he had been admitted for several days, according to a top police official who spoke to news agency PTI. Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran confirmed the news, expressing his profound sadness and calling Tata a "friend, mentor, and guide."
