Ratan Tata Dies: Throwback To When He Was Awarded Maharashtra's First Udyog Ratna Award

Ratan Tata, the esteemed chairman emeritus of Tata Sons, passed away late Wednesday night at the age of 86. He was receiving treatment at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, where he had been admitted for several days, according to a top police official who spoke to news agency PTI. Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran confirmed the news, expressing his profound sadness and calling Tata a "friend, mentor, and guide." Maharashtra government confered first-ever ‘Udyog Ratna’ award to Tata Group Chairman-Emeritus Ratan Tata Industrialist Ratan Tata was conferred with the Udyog Ratna award at his residence, by Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and Dy CMs Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis as he couldn't attend the award ceremony due to his ill health
