New Delhi: Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has alleged that a bugging device was found in his bathroom after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ’s use of the facility during their 2017 meeting, reported The Telegraph. In his new book, Unleashed, set to be released on October 10, Johnson details the incident, which allegedly occurred at the British Foreign Office when he was serving as the UK's foreign secretary.

During the meeting, Netanyahu – whom Johnson refers to by the nickname “Bibi” – excused himself to use the bathroom, which Johnson describes as being like “the gents in a posh London club” located within a “secret annexe.”

“Thither Bibi repaired for a while, and it may or may not be a coincidence but I am told that later when they (security) were doing a regular sweep for bugs, they found a listening device in the thunderbox", Johnson wrote.

When asked for further details, Johnson told The Telegraph, “I think everything you need to know about that episode is in the book.”

Reports indicated that around the same time, Israel was accused of planting listening devices in the White House.
