Singapore's COVID-19 cases reached 57,515 on Wednesday after 27 new coronavirus infections, including six who arrived from India, were recorded, according to the health ministry.

Among the new cases, two are imported infections and the other two are from the community involving foreigners holding work passes.

Both imported cases were placed on stay-home notices upon arrival in Singapore. The rest are migrant workers living in dormitories for foreigners employed in labour-intensive industries, said the Ministry of Health (MOH).

Singapore has a total of 57,515 coronavirus infection since it began testing in January 2020, it said.

The six imported cases reported on Tuesday came from India on August 30 and September 3.

Two of the six are Singapore Permanent Residents who returned to Singapore from India on September 3 while another two are Work Pass/Work Permit holders currently employed here who returned from India on September 3. The other two cases are Dependant's Pass holders who arrived from India on August 30 and September 3, said the MOH on Tuesday.

All of them were placed on a 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN) upon arrival in Singapore, and were tested while serving their SHN at dedicated facilities.

With 82 more COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities on Tuesday, a total of 56,884 have fully recovered from the infection.

Currently, 51 confirmed cases are still in hospital, while 526 are isolated and cared for at community facilities for mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19, said the MOH.
