In a disclosure that has garnered widespread attention, the Minister of State for External Affairs, revealed that a total of 28 Indian students were repatriated from the USA to India in 2023. However, data specifying the states of origin for the deported students was not provided.

It was also highlighted that the issues faced by some Indian nationals include students from Canada as well who are facing deportation.
