A police officer issued a ticket to Fukui monk for driving in his robe, because he felt the sleeves and length of his robes "could affect safe his driving", as per reports. Now in order to prove their point that they can do anything in robes, other Japanese monks have gone on a mission on social media. They are reportedly posting videos in which they can be seen showing off their physical finesse to counter the police officer's assumption that their traditional robes are 'unsafe for driving'.

In a viral sensation, Japanese monks are going on Twitter to share videos which show them doing activities like skipping, juggling and playing games while wearing their long robes with sleeves, in a bid to show the world that they can move freely in their robes. They are using a hashtag in Japanese that translates to "I can do it in monk's robe".
