Hurun Global List 2025: India's top billionaire-producing sectors are Energy, Software & Services, and Healthcare, according to Hurun Global Rich List 2025.

Globally, India ranks third in terms of the largest number of billionaires. India now has 284 billionaires, a 13 per cent increase over the previous year.

Indian Billionaires Sector-Wise 

Mukesh Ambani and his family led with $8.6 billion, despite a 13% reduction due to rising debt and competition at Reliance Industries, a major player in the energy and services sectors.

Gautam Adani and his family follow closely with $8.4 billion, representing a 13% increase in the Adani Group, which is related to the energy sector.

Roshni Nadar and family, a new entrant with $3.5 billion, have strengthened HCL’s presence in the software sector.

Dilip Shanghvi and family’s Sun Pharmaceutical Industries grew by 21% to $2.5 billion.

Other notable billionaires include Azim Premji ( Wipro ), Kumar Mangalam Birla (Aditya Birla), Cyrus Poonawalla (Serum Institute of India), and Niraj Bajaj (Bajaj Auto), highlighting wealth spread across Energy, Software & Services, and Healthcare industries.

World Billionaires List Sector Wise

Globally, USA's broader billionaire ecosystem includes Financial Services (170 billionaires), Media & Entertainment (111), and Software & Services (106). Healthcare has risen as a major billionaire sector, replacing Food & Beverages, Hurun Global Rich List 2025 stated.

The United Kingdom ranks fourth with 150 billionaires worth $605 billion, mainly from Real Estate (23), Retail (21), and Financial Services (18).

Germany, with 141 billionaires, thrives in Retail (22), Healthcare (21), and Food & Beverages (19).

Switzerland ranks sixth, leading in Healthcare (25), Consumer Goods (13), and Investments (11). Russia, in seventh place with 89 billionaires, dominates in Metals & Mining (18), Investments (11), and Energy (10).

France, surpassing Italy in eighth place with 72 billionaires worth $489.9 billion, has wealth concentrated in Food & Beverages (11), Consumer Goods (10), and Construction & Engineering (8).

Italy, now ninth, leads in Consumer Goods (26). Brazil, at tenth, sees most billionaires in Financial Services (19), Investments (9), and Industrial Products (6).
