Former India wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni is poised to return in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season, as said by the five-time title-winning franchise, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
MS Dhoni's participation in the upcoming edition of the IPL has been a hot topic ever since CSK were eliminated in the group stage following their erratic performance and finishing at the bottom of the table.
CSK Confident Of MS Dhoni’s Availability For IPL 2026
Before the IPL auction buzz takes off, significant chatter about the talismanic MS Dhoni has erupted. The former World Cup-winning captain of India has kept mum over the topic, but the Chennai Super Kings have let the cat out of the bag.
MS Dhoni will return for one more round of thrilling IPL action in 2026. Chennai Super Kings' CEO Kasi Viswanathan has confirmed the revelation to Cricbuzz, saying, “That's right.”
On Friday, the Chennai Super Kings' CEO reiterated his point and said, "MS has told us that he will be available for the next season."
It signifies that the 44-year-old former Indian cricketer is not done with franchise cricket and will be back for more cricketing action in the upcoming season.

The Chennai Super Kings have expressed certainty about MS Dhoni's comeback, even though trade talks for Sanju Samson are on the table.
Reports have further confirmed that CSK and RR are in talks once again over a potential trade involving Sanju Samson.
A top franchise player is expected to be involved as part of the trade, and word has been sent to the cricketer to know if he would be comfortable moving to the Rajasthan Royals.
RR owner Manoj Badale is said to be weighing all options and is in talks with several other IPL franchises, including the Chennai Super Kings.
Some clarity is expected to be received in the upcoming days.
