IPL 2026: After Disappointing IPL 2025, Sunrisers Hyderabad Undergo Huge Reshuffle, Appoint Varun Aaron As Bowling Coach

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a very underwhelming IPL 2025, finishing 6th in the points table. Despite having a star-studded lineup, SRH failed to execute their plans properly and couldn't qualify for the IPL playoffs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Appoint Varun Aaron As Bowling Coach

Keeping an eye on IPL 2026, Sunrisers have appointed Varun Aaron as their bowling coach for IPL 2026. He replaced James Franklin who was in charge in IPL 2025. The franchise posted on social media confirming the development. “A fiery addition to our coaching staff! Welcome Varun Aaron as our new bowling coach.”

Aaron represented five teams in IPL, Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Daredevils (Delhi Capitals) and Punjab Kings. He represented India in 9 Test and 9 ODI matches. Varun amassed 44 wickets in the IPL at an economy rate of 8.93. He has also had commentary stints in recent times.

SRH Endured Disappointing IPL 2025

SRH retained the likes of Travis Head, Pat Cummins and Heinrich Klaasen and looked like one of the fiercest sides going into the IPL 2024. But their batting lineup didn't do justice to their potential. They showed flashes of brilliance as they piled up a staggering 286 runs against the Rajasthan Royals in the first game.

But soon their loopholes were exposed and their struggle were pretty evident throughout the season. James Franklin replaced Dale Steyn and has been their bowling coach for the last two seasons. Now, as per Cricbuzz, the former New Zealand fast bowler will take up another role within the franchise.
