Former Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir cricketer Mithun Manhas has been announced as the next president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

Mithun Manhas has been announced as the next president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The former Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir cricketer will succeed Roger Binny and the decision has been finalised after the conclusion of BCCI's Annual General Meeting.

Mithun Manhas Is The New BCCI President

Manhas also becomes the firsst uncapped cricketer to don the role of BCCI president. For the last five years, the BCCI President has been selected unopposed, and Manhas might join the likes of Sourav Ganguly and Roger Binny to be the consecutive third former cricketer to head the operations of BCCI.

BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla confirmed the development.

“Mithun Manhas has become the new President of the BCCI. I have been elected as Vice President, Devajit Saikia-Secretary...Arun Thakur will be the IPL Chairman...”

Mithun Manhas has played 55 IPL matches and has scored 514 runs at an average of 22.35. He represented three IPL franchises: Delhi Daredevils (2008–2010), Pune Warriors (2011–2013), and Chennai Super Kings (2014). Manhas scored these runs with a strike rate of 109.37.

Rajeev Shukla Remains BCCI Vice President

Rajeev Shukla has become the vice president while Devajit Saikia will remain the BCCI Secretary. A Raghuram Bhatt will be the treasurer and Prabhtej Singh Bhatia becomes the joint secretary.

In other development, Pragyan Ojha and RP Singh have also been selected as selectors of men's national team selection committee. Amita Sharma will be the new chief selector Women's selection committee, while Mumbai's Sulakshana Naik and Shravanti Naidu from Hyderabad will also be a part of the committee.
