Golden Globes 2026 Highlights: Adolescence, One Battle After Another And Timothee Chalamet Emerge As Stars Of The Night

Hamnet, which was nominated in six categories, won the Best Motion Picture – Drama award at the Golden Globes 2026. The full team of the movie came together to receive the trophy. George Clooney presented the final award for the evening. 
 

Warner Bros.' epic comedy thriller One Battle After Another has won the maximum awards at the Golden Globes 2026. Led by Leonardo DiCaprio, the movie won the award for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. Social media users are now speculating that the big Golden Globe win will be a stepping stone to the movie sweeping awards at the Oscars 2026 as well. 

 

Hollywood's legend, Julia Roberts, took the stage to present the award in the Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, which was won by One Battle After Another. 

In his second nomination and first win, Wager Moura took home the trophy for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama at the Golden Globe 2026. The actor won the award for his performnce in The Secret Agent. 

Beating all the other high-profile nominees, Jessie Buckley won the Golden Globe award, her first, for her performance in Hamnet. She won the award in the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama category and hugged her fellow nominee, Julia Roberts, emotionally, before accepting the trophy. Jennifer Lawrence, Renate Reinsve, Tessa Thompson and Eva Victoria were also nominated in the category. 
 

Rose Byrne bagged the Golden Globe award in the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy category. She bagged the award for her role in the film If I Had Legs I’d Kick You. Immediately after winning the trophy, the actress was seen getting on a video call with her husband, who could not be there with her at the time. A video of her from the backstage is now viral online. 

 

The Studio won the award in the Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy category, beating Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Hacks, Only Murders in the Building and Nobody Wants This. Seth Rogen from the show also won the award for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy. 

Stephen Graham's Adolescence received nominations in five categories at the Golden Globes 2026 awards and won big in four categories. The show took home the award for Best Television Limited Series, Anthology Series Or Television Film. Owen Cooper, Stephen Graham and Erin Doherty also won in their respective categories. 

Sixteen-year-old actor Owen Cooper has created history by winning the Golden Globe for his role in the Netflix series Adolescence. He is also the youngest male actor to win a Golden Globe, an Emmy Award, and a Critics' Choice Award in a back-to-back sweep.

In one of the photos shared by the official account of the awards, Jennifer Lawrence, who was secured a nomination for Die My Love, could be seen sitting at the same table as the lovebirds Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner. 

 

Timothée Chalamet scripted history by becoming the youngest winner of the Golden Globe award for Best Actor Male in the motion picture category. In his winning speech, the actor thanked his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, but referred to her as his ‘partner’ again.

The Pitt, which wrapped its second season recently, won the Golden Globe for Best Television Series - Drama. The cast adn crew members of the series came together to collect the award for the show. 

Rhea Seehorn won her first Golden Globe for her role in the drama series Pluribus.

Brazilian movie The Secret Agent won the award for the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture - Non-English Language, beating Sentimental Value. 

In the second win of the night, Kpop Demon Hunters took home the trophy for Best Motion Picture Animated. The makers of the movie expressed gratitude to the award committee for acknowledging the movie, which is ‘rooted in Korean culture’. 

Paul Thomas Anderson for One Battle After Another, Ryan Coogler for Sinners, Guillermo Del Toro for Frankenstein, Jafar Panahi for It Was Just An Accident, Joachim Trier for Sentimental Value and Chloe Zhao for Hamnet, all secured nominations in the Best Director - Film category. Paul Thomas Anderson took home the award for the movie that has received the most awards for the evening. 

In Hollywood, a Golden Globe win is considered as a nod to higher chances of winning big at the Academy Awards. Historically, winners of the Golden Globe awards have also taken home the coveted Oscar trophy. With his maiden win for Marty Supreme, the chances of Timothee Chalamet also bagging his first Oscar have significantly increased. The other top contender of the Oscar award is Leonardo DiCaprio. 

 

Beating Avatar: Fire and Ash, F1, Kpop Demon Hunters, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, Weapons, Wicked: For Good and Zootopia 2, Sinners bagged the award for Cinematic And Box Office Achievement. The award was presented by Kevin Hart. Directed by Ryan Coogler, the horror movie is produced by Warner Bros. The entire cast of the movie came together to accept the award. 

 

Nominations in the categories included Sarah Snook, Claire Danes, Rashida Jones, Amanda Seyfried and Robin Wright. The award was bagged by Michelle Williams for the show Dying for Sex. She was not present at the award ceremony. 

Stephen Graham, who led and created the global favourite series, Adolescence, won his first Golden Globe award. He took home the trophy in the Best Male Actor in a Television Limited Series, Anthology Series Or Television Film category. The show was nominated in four categories at the awards night and secured 2 wins.
