Alpha New Release Date: Alia Bhatt, Bobby Deol and Sharvari Wagh's spy action thriller has been in the news since the makers unveiled the first look in War 2. Earlier, the movie was supposed to hit the theatres last December 2025, but was postponed to April 2026. Now, once again, the makers have postponed the release of the movie. On Monday, the makers shared a new poster announcing the new release date and also shut down the rumours of the film choosing a digital path, fearing Dhurandhar 2.

When will Alpha release in the theatres?

The official Instagram page of YRF shared a poster that shows a glimpse of bruised Alia Bhatt, and the text on it reads "10.07.26. Only in cinemas". Yes, the film will release on July 10. Helmed by Shiv Rawail, the movie also stars Anil Kapoor in a pivotal role. "#ALPHA 10.07.2026," read the caption.

For the unversed, the film will be clashing with Disney's live-action Moana adaptation. The movie stars Catherine Lagaʻaia, Dwayne Johnson, John Tui, Frankie Adam, and Rena Owen.

Is Alpha postponed due to Dhurandhar?

The film was earlier set to release a month after the debut of Dhurandhar 2, suggesting that the producers are attempting to safeguard their financial interests. The first instalment of Ranveer Singh's film broke numerous box office records. Given the success and excitement surrounding Dhurandhar 2, the film could negatively impact the earnings of Alpha. This can be the reason behind the postponement.

Alia Bhatt's take on Alpha

During the Golden Globes, Alia teased her much-anticipated upcoming film, Alpha, and described it as a "risk" due to its female-led action narrative. Speaking to the media, she explained, "Alpha is the first female-led action film from the YRF universe, so that's also a risk, because you've not historically seen that perform in the same way that the other male-led films have performed," as quoted by Deadline.
