Ranbir's Animal becomes 4th highest grosser in North America, inches closer towards $15 million

In a quick turn of success, Sandeep Reddy Vanga's movie Animal has become a major hit, securing its spot as the highest-grossing Hindi film on the first day in North America. It has also entered the prestigious Rs 800 crore club globally within just three weeks of its release on December 1.

Animal shines bright globally

The film is making waves not only in Canada, where it stands as the top-grossing film, but it has also claimed the fourth position in terms of earnings in North America. As per a trade analyst, Animal is rapidly approaching the 15 million dollar milestone.

The analyst mentioned that the top 3 highest-grossing Indian films in North America are Baahubali 2 with $22 million, Pathaan with $17.48 million and Jawan with $15.25 million. Ramesh Bala recently tweeted, "Animal North America grossed $2.5 million (approximately ₹20.8 crore) and counting. Setting the box office on fire. Highest grossing Hindi film on day 1.”

Animal on OTT

Sandeep Reddy Vanga, in a recent conversation with film trade analyst Komal Nahta, shared insights about his involvement in crafting the OTT version of Animal. Acknowledging certain disappointments with the original release, he expressed his commitment to editing and enhancing specific elements for the upcoming OTT version.

During the discussion, Vanga openly addressed his initial observations of the film, pointing out issues like song discrepancies, makeup inconsistencies, and costume irregularities in certain scenes. He also highlighted sound-related challenges, emphasising the complexities arising from the film's release in five different languages.

Vanga reflected on the chaotic last 20 days of the project, mentioning the struggles with sound checks in Chennai and expressing regret for not extending his stay to address these issues. Other than Ranbir, Animal also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Shakti Kapoor in pivotal roles.
