Avatar: Fire And Ash Box Office Collection: James Cameron's starrer performed poorly at the box office on Monday. The film, which opened at ₹19 crore, witnessed a rise in the daily collection over the weekend. However, on the first weekday, it witnessed a 65.05 per cent downfall, earning only ₹9 crore in India. While it was expected that numbers might further drop on Tuesday, to makers' delight, it maintained the pace.

According to Sacnilk, the movie earned ₹9.25 crore in India. Adding the fifth-day collection, the total stands at ₹85.50 crore. If the movie continues at this pace, then it might enter the ₹100 crore club. However, Dhurandhar's dominance in the domestic market is making things tough for the hit franchise.

Avatar: The Way of Water, released in 2022, had a significantly better opening than the recent release. In India, the film earned ₹40 crore on its opening day, making it one of the highest-grossing Hollywood openers of all time. Ultimately, it grossed around ₹500 crore in India, according to Sacnilk.

With the Christmas and New Year holidays approaching, Avatar 3 must maintain strong ticket sales; otherwise, it may struggle in India. Additionally, two Bollywood films - Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera and Ikkis - are set to release on December 25 and 26, respectively. Both movies have a strong fan base, suggesting that theatres could experience a significant increase in foot traffic.
