Dhanush To Collaborate With Rajinikanth For Jailer 2? Here's What We Know

The sequel to Rajinikanth starrer Jailer is reportedly in the works. The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial not only helped Thalaivar make a comeback at the box office but also helped the director bounce back after a string of flops. Now, all eyes on the sequel to Jailer since the ending of the first installment hinted that the story could continue. According to several reports, Dhanush is expected to play an important role.

Dhanush to be part of Rajinikanth starrer Jailer 2?

According to several media reports, in Jailer 2, Dhanush is expected to play an important role. Reportedly, after Nelson narrated the role to Rajinikanth, he approved Dhanush for the role. Although, an official confirmation is yet to be made, this news has gone viral all over.

According to a report, Nelson Dilipkumar has already begun its prep for the sequel from June this year. The sequel's tentative title is Hukum, a song in the first movie which served as the elevation in the pre-interval sequence.

For the unversed, Jailer tells the story of Muthuvel Pandian, a retired jailer, who sets out on a quest for revenge after his son goes missing while investigating a smuggling case. The film also stars Mirna Menon, Shiva Rajkumar, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vinayakan, Vasanth Ravi and Mohanlal among others.

What’s next for Dhanush?

Dhanush will next be seen in D52 which has been officially titled as Idly Kadai. The movie is being produced by Aakash Baskaran of Dawn Pictures  and Dhanush from his banner Wunderbar Films. It will reportedly star Nithya Menen, Ashok Selvan, Arun Vijay, Sathyaraj, and Rajkiran in pivotal roles. GV Prakash, who composed music for DD 3, i.e. Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam, is reuniting with Dhanush for Idly Kadai. The music composer is reportedly done with two songs from the movie, including the shooting. 

Dhanush is busy working on Kubera, directed by Sekhar Kammula. The film, produced by Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations Pvt Ltd, will also feature Nagarjuna Akkineni,  Rashmika Mandanna  and Jim Sarbh in pivotal roles. The actor will also appear in an upcoming movie based on the life of legendary music composer Ilaiyaraaja. The movie will be directed by Arun Matheswaran, who also helmed Dhanush’s Captain Miller.
