31-Year-Old Kidnapping & Murder Case: Absconding Accused Arrested

In a shocking case in Delhi, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police has finally arrested Salim Vastavik, who had been absconding in a 31-year-old kidnapping and murder case.

Salim Vastavik, who had recently been in the news for his controversial statements and YouTube videos, was actually convicted of a serious crime dating back to 1995 and had been evading the law for years.

The case dates back to 1995, when 13-year-old Sandeep Bansal, the son of a businessman in Northeast Delhi, was kidnapped.

The next day, the kidnappers called and demanded a ransom of ₹30,000, threatening to kill the child.

During the investigation, suspicion fell on Salim Khan (now known as Salim Vastavik), who was then a martial arts instructor at the boy’s school.

During interrogation, he confessed to the crime, and the child’s body was recovered based on his disclosure.

In 1997, a court sentenced Salim Khan and his associate Anil to life imprisonment.

However, in 2000, after being granted interim bail by the Delhi High Court, Salim absconded and never returned.

In 2011, the High Court upheld his conviction, but by then he had already changed his identity and was hiding in different places.

Salim even declared himself dead to mislead the police.

He later changed his name to Salim Ahmed, alias Salim Vastavik and kept moving across Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

Eventually, he settled in Loni, Ghaziabad, where he was running a clothing business.

Police confirmed that the controversial YouTuber Salim Vastavik was the same absconding criminal through old records, fingerprints, and photographs. He was finally arrested in Loni.
