PM Modi Vows Tough Action on Exam Mafia, Announces Fast-Track Courts for NEET Paper Leak Amid CJP Violence

As violence continued and Delhi police personnel got brutally attacked by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protesters in the national capital, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday morning issued a strong message reaffirming the Centre's commitment to protecting students and ensuring strict action against those involved in examination paper leaks.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “Nothing is more important than the welfare and future of our youth.”

Announcing a major step, PM Modi said that the government has decided to establish fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks. 

"We have decided to set up fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks. Have directed the concerned authorities and officials to take all necessary steps in this regard. This continues our series of steps for safeguarding the interests of students," the Prime Minister wrote on X. 

He further warned that those attempting to destroy the future of India's youth would face strict consequences. "Those who try to harm the future of our youth will not be spared," PM Modi asserted.

Day 4 of CJP-led Violence - ‘Anti-Social Elements’ Lead Unrest

The Prime Minister's remarks come as Delhi witnesses the fourth day of violence linked to the CJP's protest over the alleged NEET paper leak. 

According to Delhi Police sources, the protest has now been completely hijacked by outside ‘anti-social elements’. Police sources said that anti-social elements infiltrated the crowd under the cover of students before launching sudden attacks on uniformed personnel using sharp stones and glass bottles, triggering widespread violence.

Additional paramilitary forces have been deployed to assist Delhi Police. Despite repeated attacks on the police personnel and continuous provocation from the violent mob, security personnel have exercised maximum restraint, focusing on protecting lives rather than retaliating forcefully.

Delhi Police personnel suffered serious injuries in targeted attacks, while anti-social elements allegedly took control of the protest.

Countless Videos Show Mob Attacking Police 

Multiple videos from Wednesday night captured violent scenes near Jantar Mantar. One video shows Delhi Police officers being surrounded and beaten by a mob, while another shows an officer fleeing as hundreds chase him through the streets.

The assaulted officer has been identified as Inspector Nandkishore of the Special Police Unit for Women and Children, who was deployed at Jantar Mantar during the protests. Delhi Police confirmed that Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel and police officers were specifically targeted during the July 20 protests after viral CCTV footage surfaced.

Police said the footage showed incidents of stone-pelting, vandalism and damage to shops and a petrol pump. More than 118 police personnel, including senior officers and several women officers, were injured during the clashes, while around 60 protesters also sustained injuries.

Fresh violence was also reported near Tolstoy Marg on Wednesday night, where ACP (Connaught Place) Vivek Bhagat was injured after miscreants allegedly attacked security personnel with stones and bottles.

Delhi Police have intensified its investigation and is examining more than 250 videos, including CCTV footage, drone recordings, mobile phone videos and body-worn camera footage. Those allegedly involved in the violence are being identified and probed whether any have previous criminal records and probing whether the violence was pre-planned.

Police are also investigating whether WhatsApp or Telegram groups were used to organise or incite the violence before the protest and whether the attacks on police personnel and vandalism were carried out in a coordinated manner.

Multiple FIRs have also been registered at several national capital police stations under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Arms Act, 1959, and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property (PDPP) Act. The FIR includes charges related to unlawful assembly, rioting, assault on public servants, obstruction of official duty, criminal conspiracy, common intention, endangering human life and damage to public property. 

CJP's Ashutosh Ranka Confronted By Protesters

Amid growing outrage over the violence during the CJP-led protest, party leader Ashutosh Ranka was confronted by angry supporters who questioned why he, along with Saurav Das, Abhijeet Dipke and other leaders, allegedly incited the agitation before disappearing after violence erupted. In videos circulating online, protesters are seen demanding answers from the leadership, accusing them of sitting in air-conditioned rooms while leaving supporters to face the consequences on the ground. As the crowd pressed for an explanation, Ranka was heard responding, "Don't instigate people here," even as protesters continued to question the role of the party leadership during the unrest.

The confrontation came as criticism grew over the conduct of the protest and the leadership's role during the unrest.

CJP Goons Issue Threats 

The violent protest in the name of student agitation following NEET paper leak also witnessed several participants raising threatening slogans demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Some protesters were heard saying Parliament would be ‘ripped apart’ if the resignation was not accepted, while others threatened to ‘destroy Parliament’ and ‘burn India like Nepal’ as chants of ‘Inqalab Zindabad’ continued in the background.
