Deepak Nandal Gang Members Killed In Gurugram Encounter, 3 Cops Injured

Gurugram: Four members of the notorious Deepak Nandal gang were shot dead in a high-voltage encounter in Gurugram, Haryana, on Thursday night. Another gang member was injured in the incident. Further, as many as three personnel of the Crime Branch also sustained gunshot wounds.

The exchange of gunfire took place in the A Block area of Sushant Lok Phase-1.

The injured gangsters and officers have been taken to a hospital. Meanwhile, the encounter site has been cordoned off and a search operation has been launched.

As per reports, the Crime Branch of the Gurugram police had received information from the police control room regarding armed criminals in a suspicious Scorpio vehicle in the Sushant Lok area.

Upon reaching the area, the officers found the criminals firing using sophisticated weapons at the residence of a businessman. Notably, the businessman had been reportedly receiving continuous extortion threats from a wanted gangster based abroad.

Amidst the firing, the Crime Branch warned the gangsters to surrender, but they opened lethal fire on the police team and attempted to flee. The police team returned fire in self-defense and to apprehend the suspects. All five gangsters were shot in the firing, following which they were rushed to a private hospital, where doctors declared four of the criminals dead, while the fifth is currently undergoing treatment.
