Delhi Shocker: IRS Officer’s Daughter Found Dead in Amar Colony, Cops Suspect Murder After Sexual Assault

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, the 21-year-old daughter of a senior IRS officer was found dead at her residence in the Amar Colony area of southeast Delhi.

The incident took place when she was alone at home, as her parents had stepped out for a morning walk and gym around 5:30 AM, and when they returned around 8:30 AM, they reportedly found the door open and their daughter lying unconscious inside the house. 

Initial investigation suggests that the crime may have taken place between 6:30 am and 7:30 am.

Following this, she was rushed to a hospital in an unconscious state, but doctors declared her dead on arrival.

The victim, daughter of a 1997-batch IRS officer, had reportedly completed her engineering studies and was preparing for the UPSC examinations.

Authorities immediately reached the spot upon receiving information around 9 am and began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.

Sexual Assault, Murder Suspected

According to a preliminary investigation, police suspect that the woman may have been sexually assaulted before being strangled to death, allegedly with a mobile phone charging cable. The body also reportedly showed signs of injuries, including a severe head injury and multiple marks on the face.

Authorities suspect that the domestic helper who had recently been removed from service reportedly committed the crime, as he reappeared at the residence on the morning of the incident, raising further suspicion.

The accused has been identified as Rahul, a native of Rajasthan who had been dismissed from his job around one to two months ago after allegedly being caught embezzling the money. 

However, he reportedly arrived at the house on the morning of the incident. 

Further, the exact sequence of events is still being ascertained, and a detailed probe is underway.
