Mohali Shocker: Who Was Abhishek Swarnkar? Scientist Killed Over Parking Dispute Had Just Returned to India

Mohali: A 39-year-old scientist, Abhishek Swarnkar, was killed after a fight with his neighbor over a parking issue in Mohali, Punjab . Swarnkar, originally from Jharkhand , had recently returned to India for medical treatment and was living in a rented house in Sector 67. The incident, which was caught on CCTV.

Fight Caught on CCTV

The entire fight was recorded on a CCTV camera. The video shows Swarnkar in a white T-shirt and his neighbor, Monty, in a black jacket. Monty can be seen continuously attacking Swarnkar while some neighbors watch but do not intervene. The footage has gone viral over the internet. 

Swarnkar was a talented scientist who had worked in Switzerland. He had joined the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) in Mohali as a project scientist. Recently, he had undergone a kidney transplant and was on dialysis, making him physically weak. Despite his condition, Monty allegedly assaulted him without mercy.

The fight started over a parking issue outside their house. It quickly turned violent, and Monty attacked Swarnkar repeatedly. Witnesses claim that Swarnkar, who was already weak due to his health condition, could not defend himself.

After the attack, Swarnkar was rushed to a hospital, but doctors could not save him. He succumbed to his injuries, leaving his family and colleagues in deep grief. His parents, who lived with him in Mohali, are demanding strict action against the accused.

Police Investigation Underway

The police have arrested Monty and are investigating the case. The CCTV footage will be used as evidence. The authorities are also questioning witnesses to gather more details about what exactly happened.
