Bihar Shocker! Student Shot Dead, Another Injured for Refusing to Cheat in Matric Exam

Sasaram, Bihar: A 16-year-old student was shot dead, and another was seriously injured in Bihar's Sasaram after they refused to cheat during their matriculation examination. The attack took place on January 20, during the Mother Tongue (Hindi, Urdu) paper at Saint Anna School, Budhan Mod.

According to police, a fellow student asked Amit Kumar and Sanjeet Kumar to help him cheat inside the examination hall. When they refused, the student threatened them and left the exam hall to call his friends.

The incident took a deadly turn after the exam ended. While Amit and Sanjeet were returning home by auto, a group of armed miscreants stopped their vehicle on NH-19. The attackers surrounded them and opened fire. Amit Kumar succumbed to his injuries, while Sanjeet Kumar was critically injured and rushed to a hospital.

An eyewitness student, who was also in the auto, described the horrifying moment, "When we refused to cheat, we were threatened that a bomb would be dropped on the auto. We were returning after the exam when some people attacked us. We tried to stop them, but they opened fire."

After the attack, the victims were taken to Sasaram Trauma Centre and later referred to a private hospital. Amit died during treatment, while Sanjeet Kumar (son of Kamlesh Singh) remained in critical condition.

Following the incident, angry villagers blocked the road in Suwara under the Mufassil police station, demanding action against the culprits. The police arrested one accused, while a search operation was launched to catch the others.

This shocking incident has raised serious questions about education security and law enforcement in Bihar. Authorities continue to investigate the case, while the local community demands justice for the victims.
